We finally got to have a family vacation with all four of us. We went to Oceanside California again since Wes's parents have a timeshare there. We absolutely loved it. We really didn't do anything except hang out on the beach and go to a few street fairs. I love nice relaxing vacations like that. The only non-relaxing part was the preparation for the trip. Driving 14 hours in a car with two kids under 5 is not my idea of relaxing, but it turned out better then we thought. We left at 3:30am and the kids slept for the first few hours, then Oakley was content to just watch shows on the DVD player that we borrowed from my brother. It was a lifesaver. Tyson even liked watching the shows too. He was a little harder to keep content though, so we went through lots of books and snacks, but eventually we made it there, just in time for the beautiful sunset over the ocean.
Like I said, for the rest of the vacation we just hung out on the beach and enjoyed being lazy. Oakley loved playing in the sand and building sand castles. He eventually got in the water and loved running in and out of the waves.
Tyson didn't know what to think of the sand. He did realize that it didn't taste very good, and that face-planting in it isn't very fun. He did enjoy the water until a wave took him down, but that's what they're suppose to do, right?

We did spend one day away from the beach. We drove down to La Jolla tide pools to see the sea Lions and Seals. That was pretty fun, but a little chilly.
