On Monday, Wes and I celebrated our ten year anniversary. I can't believe that it's already been ten years. I remember the day we met. It was memorial day at the UVU outdoor volleyball tournament, and I had seen him around here and there, but when my friend introduced us, I just said "I know you." I was nervous at the time and it was a stupid thing to say, and I'm embarassed about it now, but it worked out in the end. We spent the day watching each other play volleyball and talking in between. Wes had tons of stories and he made me laugh, which was a must. That night I invited him, along with some of my other friends to my grandma's pool to swim. It was fun, and I had no clue that Wes hated the water as much as he does. He faked it really well.
We enjoyed seeing each other for the next few saturdays at tournaments just like the one we met at. We'd talk and laugh and have a good time. After the third tournament of seeing each other and no official date, I called my friend who introduced us and told her that he needed to call me or he was going to be in trouble. Of course, that night he called and we went country dancing the next day. After that we never looked back, and three months later we were married in the Salt Lake Temple for time and all eternity.
We've had many fun times, and a few difficult times, but in the end, he's still my best friend and we still talk and laugh just as much as we did ten years ago. I'm glad that I didn't scare him off with our first official meeting, and I'm glad that I made him call me. I love him and I'm looking forward to the next ten years, and many more. Love you Wessy Pooh!

Soccer
Oakley had his first soccer game on Saturday. I signed him up cause I want him to learn how to work with other kids, and get some structure from someone besides me. Plus, he's a big kid and will probably be in sports his whole life, might as well start him young, right? We didn't really teach him much about the game and how you play, so for the first little while he didn't really know what to do. They blew the whistle and he would run to the ball and just stand by and almost "box out" the other kids. He didn't get that he had to kick it. Then of course we yelled to kick it and he got the hang of it. He was really aggressive and was almost always the one kicking the ball for his team. He would do good, but then when the ball was starting to get away from him he would fall on the ground and grab it. Of course Wes and I would yell from the sideline "No hands", which we never taught him before, and by the end of the game he wasn't doing that much anymore. He made two and a half goals. Two for the other team, and the half was him and his little teammate kicking it in together. Like I said, by the end of the game he was doing really well. He kept getting confused which goal was his, so he'd start kicking the ball one way, and we'd all yell to go the other way, so he'd have to try and turn around, but by then someone else would come get the ball, but that's ok, at least he wasn't like his teammate who just stood in the middle of the field the whole time staring at the trees. Tonight is his second game so we'll see if he remembers what we taught him the first game.

Trenton Time
My sister Wendee invited us all up to their place in Trenton, near Logan, for the 24th of July this year. We went and had an awesome time. There were 15 cousins there for three whole days of exhaustion and enjoyment. They all loved running around together.
The water bounce house was a huge hit.
The kids always love the animals.
I don't think Rachel put Tyson down the whole time we were there.
Oakley showed off his "Fetching" skills by out fetching the dog while playing frisbee.
Of course we had to put their fun fire pit to good use and make smores.
Oakley slept in a tent for the first time. He only made it till about 5:00AM but he loved shining the flashlight all over. I just remember looking out my window at the tent and there were flashlight beams going crazy. Haha.
The parade was another fun part. Brigham and Amber got to ride their unicycles in it, and Oakley loved running around and grabbing all the candy that everyone threw out.
The carnival at the park was so fun for the kids. Oak even tried the zipline and loved it.
Ty is certainly a boy!
Oakley's favorite part, at least this is what he told me on the drive home, was when the airplane flew over and dropped candy at the sodfarm before the fireworks. It was pretty amazing to see all the candy fall and the fun little parachutes that they attached to some of them.
We also enjoyed some fun times at the ranch, riding the pony, making snake bubbles, and writing our names with water guns (Isaacs idea).
Of course we had to try out Caspers, the best ice cream in Cache county.
I'm sure their kittens and puppy were glad when we left. My kiddos almost loved those animals to death, literally.
Our last fun adventure was story time at the park. It was their last day, so they had some fun games from around the world, like the camel race (top), the parachutes (middle) and a pinata (bottom). We had a blast and loved all the fun memories that we have from our trip.

4th of July
I am way behind on my posts, but I want these pictures on here for the record, so too bad. We love the fourth of July because our block puts on a huge block party. Everyone brings food to share and we rent a huge water inflatable and get a ton of firework. It's so fun, and it's nice that we don't have to travel that far for all the fun. Here are a few pics from the party.
