May and June Happenings

It's so nice when it starts getting warm outside. We took full advantage of the sun and headed to the splash park up the street a few times this summer. Here are some of the fun times we had.

It's also fun to play in side with friends. This is our neighbor Zachary Ashby. We like having him over to play. My boys also LOVE watermelon, and the summer time is the perfect time to eat a yummy slice of it.

What else do my boys love? Super heros! Here they are wearing the iron man mask. I love that in the one picture you can see Tyson's blurry arms because he is pushing them back like iron man, or sometimes it's hulk, or wolverine, whichever character he is being at the time.
Dad turned 34 this year on his birthday. He took the day off and we went to the zoo. Then he and I went to dinner. We got him a nice blue polo shirt, a Bengal steering wheel cover, and Bengal license plate covers.

We also had our Pass of All Passes and were able to go to Seven Peaks a few times. We love going for a few hours here and there. It was actually nice being pregnant, cause swimming took the weight off my back and hips.
These next pictures are just funny. I realized one day close to my due date, that I would loose my built in table that I had. It was so convenient to just place my bowl or plate on my belly. These were also some of the only pictures that I got of my being pregnant. Sort of wish I had taken more, but at least I got these.

Lagoon

I loved lagoon as a kid, especially when we got to go with cousins. So for the past few years I've tried to get my kids and their cousins to Lagoon at least once during the summer. This year my sisters Wendee and Katy and their kids came. Wes was also able to take off work, which was really fun because he took Oakley on all the big rides. I was 8 months pregnant so I couldn't go on any rides, but it was good because Tyson wouldn't go on any of them. He wouldn't even try the little boat one. That's ok, Oak made up for him. Their very first ride was The Bat, which is where you are strapped in from the top and your feet are dangling below you and the track is above you, so as you go on the roller coaster it feels like you're flying. Oak was a little nervous, but he ended up loving it.

Oakley ended up going on most of the big roller coasters. He went on Bombara, Jet Star, The Spider, and he even went on Wicked. What a brave kid.

The one thing Tyson did like was the splash pad. He could have stayed there all day. Good thing I brought extra clothes for him.

It was so much fun to be with our cousins. We will for sure make this a tradition!

New Aquarium

Last year the new aquarium opened in draper. There used to be one in an old grocery store in Sandy, and it was fun, but this new one has a ton more room and is pretty awesome. We were finally able to go one day with our friends Nicole and Snow.

The penguin exhibit was probably the coolest one there. You could look up at the penguins swimming in the water. It was pretty cool. Oakley loves his little friend Snow. He is so good with her and always wants to be right by her.

The other cool part was walking underneath a tunnel of water. A cool shark swam right over our heads. Then the last thing we did was walk across this cool bridge they have way up high in the Amazon part of the Aquarium. Tyson didn't want to go, but Oakley went across many times.

Oakley's Preschool Graduation

Oakley graduated from Preschool! He absolutely loved preschool this year at Woodstock Elementary. He made some fun friends and learned how to act at school and around other kids, which was what I was most concerned about. He was a great student. He is smart and always paid attention in class. This was his teacher's last year teaching. Her name was Miss Angie and she did awesome with the kids.
For the graduation we all went into a little studio room and the class sung about seven songs that they had learned throughout the year. As you can see from the pictures, Oakley was by far the biggest one in his class. He probably looks more like a 3rd grader, than a preschooler.
After they sang, Miss Angie called each of them up one at a time and gave them a certificate. Then we went back to the classroom and had cookies.
