July 2015

Tyson and Carter have become pretty good friends. They love playing together while Oakley plays baseball.
I love these three boys. I bought these shirts in California and this might be the last time they can all where them together. What sweet boys!
We celebrated the 4th of July at my parents house with a BBQ and the neighbor's fireworks afterwards. Dax loved the food, but not the heat.
One of our favorite splash parks is the one at Liberty Park. It has rivers that are suppose to represent all the canyons in the Salt Lake Valley that have rivers that come out of them. The kids love running around and floating things down the rivers. It was especially fun to have our cousins play with us.
We got a Pass of all Passes again this year and the kids and I have enjoyed going to Seven Peaks a few times. Once Jordyn even came with us.
Dax turned 1! We love having him in our family. He pretty much started walking on his birthday. He loves balls and anything with sugar. He loves to be with his brothers and loves that he is old enough to play outside with them now. I has the best smile and a scratchy little voice. We love him. To celebrate we got donuts and ate them in the back yard. I love that one of my kids has a summer birthday. They are so much fun.
We also had a little family party and had everyone over for cake and ice cream. He enjoyed tearing into his cake.
This boy is so adorable! We took him to Wheeler farm for his 1 year pictures and it was hard to keep him from chasing all the ducks. It was easy to make him smile. He is one happy boy, that's for sure.

He wasn't quite sure of the cake at first. He just started at it, but then once he tasted it, he loved it, and as you can see made quite a big mess.

Now that Dax can walk we ventured out to the splash pad by our house. He wasn't too sure about the cold water, but he still loved exploring.
Speaking of exploring, Dax loves our lazy suzanne. He likes pulling out all the cans, and once in a while I find him sitting in there playing.
Grandpa Thompson took us to the children's parade that they have the Saturday before the 24th of July. It's not as big as the pioneer parade, but it's fun cause it's just the right size for kids.
Here we are enjoying some treats at an "Anything for a friend" event that we went to with Katy and the kids. The boys love any excuse to get together with cousins...and to get their faces painted.
We got to go to East Canyon and while there Abel brought his boat up and let me try to ski. It's been a long time since I wasn't pregnant and I had 40 extra pounds since the last time I had tried to ski, so sadly to say, I never got up. But I did get up on the knee board. I am not nearly as flexible as I used to be. My body is getting old. We had fun anyway!
Tyson was even brave enough to come swim in the water with me and ride on the tube together. Not sure if he loved it, but he didn't hate it.
We might prefer just to spend our time at the pool from now on.
We got to play with Karlia and her kiddos at Liberty park. We love that place and it's always fun to play with new friends, or friends you haven't seen for a really long time.
Tyson loves being in tight places. He will just find a little corner, or hole, or box and watch the iPad.
Oakley's first baseball team. He got to play with Max Brown and have his dad coach. They loved it.

For the 24th we went and celebrated with LJ and his family since LJ's was born on the 24th. The boys loved the fireworks, and they had to stay behind their make-shift shield.
This year we got to go to Bear Lake with the Thompson Tribe. It was Dax's first time there. He loved the sand but didn't like sleeping in the tent. Maybe next year he'll like it more. Camping is not for 1 year olds.
We had the whole gang there. It was a blast playing sand volleyball with everyone and floating in the canoe and the 6 person stand up paddle board boat that Scotty brought. I love just letting the kids be kids and play out in the beautiful nature.

Here's Dax celebrating with the flag.
We found a new, fun, shady park by us at Oakwood Elementary. The kids loved it and I loved that it was in the shade in the evening. Makes for a much more bareable night.
