August 2019

Katy and I decided that we needed to have a staycation with just the two of our families. We rented a condo up in Park City and spent three nights there enjoying the time together. The first day we were there, we went to the Adventure park at resort and had an awesome day. We road the Alpine Slide a few times, the Coaster, played Miniature golf, Rock climbed, zip-lined, flipped on the trampoline, and Dax's favorite, which was a little obstacle/adventure course for kids to climb on. I think he went on that like 40 times.
While we were up there I played in a tournament with one of my best friends, Ashley. We didn't end up making it to tournament, but it was fun anyway. We enjoyed swimming with the cousins and playing games in the condo. It was just what we needed before school starts in a few weeks.
One night we went to the McKnight's for a BBQ and the sprinklers turned on. The kids thought it was fun to hide in these big boxes, and dodge the sprinklers. They had a ton of fun.
Another night, I took Dax and Tyson to the safety fair at Murray park. We had never been before, but thought it would be fun since Ty loves Police and Firemen. They got to practice putting their seat belts on and crash into each other. They sprayed a fire hose, and we watched them use the jaws of life to get a dummy out of a car. The best thing, was when they started a small room on fire. It went up in flames so fast and the heat was unbearable. We all had to step back, it was crazy. The boys had fun though.
We got to spend a night up at East Canyon this year. It was fun, like always. We even went over to the lake and played for a little bit.
First day of school! Tyson in 2nd grade and Oakley in 5th Grade. And here is our bus gang. These boys are so fun. Dax had to wait a few days for his first day, so I took him on a lunch date. But then He started a few days later. It's crazy to think that all three boys are in school now. What am I going to do with my mornings?
To celebrate my parent's 50th wedding anniversary we decided to go up to Heber Valley Camp and spend a night there. I put together a bunch of decorations and had a cake made that was a replica of their original wedding cake. Transporting it up there was a little hairy, but it worked out. We invited all of their siblings up and our whole family was there.
Kristie brought her 9 square game and we set it up. That was a blast.
That night we had a little program where all of us shared something about mom and dad and they also shared a few things. I made a grey goose and had Ty and Dax "ride" in it with me on vacation. We had boondoggle and The man from snowy river playing. It was pretty epic. The next day we went on a small hike up the mountain and got to look down at the valley. It was fun, but long for Dax. He made it the whole way though.
After the hike we had lunch and got to do a ropes course. Tyson wanted to be the first one up and he had no fear. He went straight up the pole, walked across the wire, and then did a zipline down. Dax went too, and he was brave as well. It was a fun weekend celebrating mom and dad.
