Another day at the zoo, but with Dad

So Wes doesn't really like taking time off work because then he just has twice as much to do when he gets back, or more. But he hasn't had a day off for a while so he planned to take today off so we could all go to the zoo together before our pass expires at the end of the month. It was the perfect day for the zoo, nice and overcast and not too many people. The boys loved it, all three of them.

Oak could ride the train forever, and Tyson didn't mind it himself.
I don't know what Oak was doing to this gorilla, but we got a picture of it.

Some day I'll gather up all the pictures that I've taken comparing Oakley to the gorilla and put them in one post to see how much he's grown. That would be fun.

It was such a fun day. We love it when dad gets to hang out with us.

5 Months Old, and Snow Boots

My little guy is already 5 months old. Where has the time gone? He is such a cutie and he's always so happy. All you have to do is look at him and he grins ear to ear. Here are some cute pictures of him recently.
Oakley loves his brother too. The day I took this next picture he asked if Ty could sit next to him on the chair. He really loves him. What a good big brother he is.
Yes, this is snow. Last week we had a few rainy days and one day it snowed a bit. The snowflakes were massive. That's why I took these pictures. They were about the size of a quarter or bigger.
The snow and rain didn't stop Oakley from playing outside though. When he saw the snow he got really excited and said "Now I can put on my new snow boots and build a snowman". I told him there wasn't quite enough snow for that. The next day we put on his rain boots instead and he headed out in the pouring rain and played with his toys. He also found a few slimy friends out there that he was extremely interested in and kept stepping on. I don't think they survived the friendship.

Cute Suits

My cute boys in their Easter suits. Aren't they adorable? I think they both look so dashing in their nice clothes.
They already have all the girls falling all over them at church. Especially Ty with his big smile.

Easter

I've enjoyed getting ready for Easter this year. I've never had many decorations and we've never really made it a big deal around our house, but now that Oakley is getting older it's fun to decorate and start some holiday traditions of our own. Of course this isn't a tradition, just some of the crafts I've been working on. I love these little chicks. They are so cute.
These eggs turned out better then I thought. I made them with my Activity Days girls and I absolutely love them. I might make a hundred more. You just wrap string around a water balloon and then dip it in watered down elmers glue and let it dry overnight. It was a little messy, but really easy. (Disclaimer: I found this idea on Pinterest)
This is the first year that we dyed Easter eggs at our house. Oakley has done it with Grandma before, but I decided I wanted to make it a tradition to do it with him. He loves it and he was so good to let the eggs stay in the dye for a long time to make them nice and bright. He also loved coloring on them with the crayon before we put them in the dye.
Then on Saturday morning the Easter Bunny came to our house and brought Oakley a basket with some candy. He also hid eggs all over the back yard. He left a ton! I think he was expecting more kids to be there, but it was just Oak (and Ty, but he's only like a half, if that). They both loved walking around the yard finding all the bright eggs.
I think they ended up with over 60 eggs. Can you say sugar high at our house?

We have a roller!

Tyson is almost 5 months old and he has mastered rolling, at least from his back to his stomach, and only to the right, but none the less, he is a pro. Oakley could never roll until after he could crawl cause he had too much weight to throw around, but Ty is a little slimmer so it's much easier for him. Here he is rolling and rolling cause mom just keeps flipping him back over:

Where did March go?

Where has March gone? I can't believe it's already April, and I only posted once in March. Probably because it's been so nice outside and we've started spending more time out there. Oakley has loved just running around in the backyard and going on walks around the block. Here are a few pictures that I ment to post in march but never got around to it.My cute boys. They love each other so much. I love how they already love to hang out with each other doing whatever, watching shows on the IPad or whatever.
I saw this idea of taking a picture every month for the first year of a baby's life with the month in the picture and then making a chart with all of them at the end, so here's the first one, minus the first three months. Isn't Tyson so smiley? We had my family over for dinner last Sunday and my grandma came. She is 93 years old and still going strong. Isn't she a cutie? I lost count of how many great-grandkids she has, but I think Tyson is around number 50 or so. I love that she gets to see all these cute kids.
Here are a few of those cute kids. Even Sara from Maine came to play with us.
We finally ventured out to the zoo this year. It was Tyson's first time there and it was a beautiful day. Oakley finally got over his fear of the huge metal elephant and let me take a picture of him by it. It used to make noise, but now it doesn't so he's not scared anymore.Oakley's best friend is LJ, one of our volleyball friend's sons. Oak and him get to play together almost every week. They get along so well and love playing all types of things. Reading books, going potty together (even though Oak doesn't really go), playing hopscotch and just hanging out having snacks. They are good friends.
