I loved riding bikes when I was a kid so naturally I wanted to get Oakley one. He is obviously tall enough for a bike, but is he coordinated enough? That's the one thing we didn't know till after he got his bike. He has the hardest time pedaling. We finally went over to the church parking lot one night and let him just ride so he didn't have to worry about the sidewalk or cars and could just go. He got it ok, but he still has trouble starting to pedal. Oh, and the other thing, when he turns, his center of balance isn't quite right on the bike so he tips over almost every time. We'll have to practice that a little more, but for now, here are some pics and videos of when we rode over to the park.

From the eyes of Oakley
The only reason I want to post this is because I thought it was so funny to look through all the pictures he took. Let me explain; I had to go to three different stores one day and I needed Oakley to behave, so I gave him my phone and showed him how to take pictures. Well, three stores later, and 300 pictures later we made it home and I busted up when I looked at all the pictures he took. Some of them were not very flattering of me. I think a hundred of them were of his Star Wars Character dictionary that he says is his "favorite book". And there were a few of Tyson. Anyway, here are a few of the gems that I picked out just to see what a four foot tall four year old sees everyday.
Kangaroo Zoo
At the beginning of the month, our friends Toshi and Justin came into town from Florida and invited us to go to Kangaroo Zoo with them. We've been to other bounce house places before, but this one is my new favorite. It had so many different bounce toys, even ones just for the little tikes like Ty. Oakley had a blast running around with their son Luke (I think mainly because Oakley makes us call him Luke Skywalker from star wars and he was excited to actually meet a real Luke). These two could have stayed all day. Just a side note, Luke's older sister Taija was born on the same day as Oakley, and Luke is two years younger. The age difference nor the height difference mattered though.
Tyson was so excited that he could climb up the little slide by himself. He also learned how to say "cheese" so taking pictures of him is becoming a little easier.

Zoo time
My parents have a grandparent's pass to the zoo, so I called them the other day and invited ourselves to go with them. Grandpa usually takes us, but he was under the weather so my mom was happy to take us, I think. ;)
They had these cool Lego sculptures all over the place with animals made out of Legos. They were pretty amazing.
Oakley wanted to take his picture with all three of the bears here, so notice how he stood in different spots for each picture. It's so funny how children's minds work. He's getting to be pretty smart and imaginative.
The Polar Bear was in rare form that day. It was the first time we had seen him be so active. I got this cool video of him doing back dives off the wall. It was pretty cool.
I love these two boys. They are my favorite!
The rino was up close and personal too.
Tyson is finally old enough to ride on the carousel. He absolutely loved it, as you can tell from my sideways video below.
Notice Oakley's expression in these photos. He got his head through the hole ok, but couldn't quite figure out how to get it out without hurting his chin. He also loves taking his picture with the gorilla. He always rubs the gorilla's chest and tells me that he has boobs. Oh boy!
They had a cool tent set up that has some huge Legos and my kids loved building a tall tower.
