Last year I included all my facebook Status's in my blog book and now I love to look back and read some of the funny things that happen day in and day out. So I decided to do it again this year. This is probably a post that will be really boring to some people, but to me it's just worth having them in the book.
January 2011
· Every time I’ve given Oakley food today he starts walking away and then turns back and says “Merry Christmas”.
· I know all I post about is funny things Oakley does, but this one really cracked me up. He’s sitting in his high chair playing with his sippy cup and then he stops with it in one hand. He looks at the cup and says “Thank you cup” then at his other hand “Thank you hand” and then back at his cup “You’re welcome” At least he’s learning good manners from his sippy cup.
· Our house seemed like a daycare tonight I had Oakley and four more kids for about 3 hours. It was crazy, but fun. Thank goodness for Pixar movies and goldfish crackers. That’s all I have to say.
· Earlier we heard Oakley in his room saying “No, go to bed”. Soon he came out with his Buzz Lightyear and got a book so Buzz would go to sleep easier. Then back he went. I hope Buzz took a good nap for Oak, otherwise he might be grouchy later.
· My poor little bug has a fever. It’s weird seeing him actually lay down for more then a minute. I hope the motrin kicks in soon.
· I love lazy days at home when I don’t have any responsibilities.
· Oak woke up in the middle of the night last night and when I went in his room he said “Look, and elephant, right there, walking around, knocking on the door. And a penguin and a crocodile.” No wonder he couldn’t sleep.
· I guess I should go shovel the driveway. We’ve been spoiled and haven’t had to do that for a while.
February 2011
· I’m so proud of myself. I started cutting pieces for the wall molding that’s going in Oakley’s room. It’s going much better than the crown molding, and I can truthfully say that it is custom made.
· Oak just told me “ I wanna watch football” and turned on the tv. Hmmmmm, I wonder where he gets that from? Good thing we have the NFL Network, I guess.
· Just finished the custom wainscoting in Oakley’s room. I’m not the best carpenter, but I made it work, and it looks pretty good. Pictures to come.
· My sister and I are teaching another couponing class tomorrow night for my friend’s Relief Society. Call me or message me if you want to come. We’d love to have more people. FYI it’s in Taylorsville at 6:30.
· Aaaahhh. Time for a nap before I go play volleyball all night.
· The only thing bad about playing in an all night tournament, we won by the way, woo woo, is that I sleep the whole next day. It’s almost five and I just got out of bed. I hope I can sleep tonight.
· I’ve dreaded this day for a while, and now it’s finally here. At 5:30 this morning Oakley figured out how to get out of his crib. Maybe he’ll forget by the time he goes to bed tonight. (cross my fingers)
· Parenting is hard stuff!
· Chair rail is up above the molding, now it’s on to priming and painting, Wes’s favorite.
· Is it bad that Oakley eats four apples a day?
· It’s been a long weekend of carpentry and painting, but we’re almost done with Oakley’s new room. Pictures to come.
· We had a first tonight: Oakley falling asleep downstairs on the couch while watching a movie, and staying asleep as we carried him upstairs and put him in bed. He must have been pretty worn out.
· Ok moms and dads out there, any suggestions on transitioning Oak from a crib to a twin bed? I think tonight’s the night.
· Hallelujah! First attempt at napping in the new twin bed was a success. It gives me hope that I won’t have to give up nap time yet. (I can already see some comments on this. I’m talking about Oakley, not Wes)
March 2011
· Anyone want to go to a bounce house arena tomorrow morning with Oak and me? Parents are free and it’s only $5 for kids. Let me know. We’d love to have you tag along.
· Both Oak and I are ready for a nice long nap after all that bouncing and sliding at the bounce arena.
· Oakley just informed Wes and I that we are his friends.
· I need a girl sub for my coed B team tomorrow night. 6:30 in Murray. Any takers?
· Booooyaa! Region Basketball champs! Good game team!
· Why am I awake in the middle of the night? I can’t sleep and I didn’t even get a nap today. Aaaahhh!
· Oakley just pointed to me and said “Liz”, then he pointed to the door (cause dad is at work) and said “Wes”, then he pointed at himself and said “son”. I tried to explain the difference between Oakley and son, but he just didn’t get it. It’s mommy, daddy, and Oakley . . . or Liz, Wes, and Son, at least the way he puts it.
· It’s 1:30 and I’m still in my pajamas.
· Is there a prize for having a bracket where none of your teams win? Cause I think I’m in the running for that one.
· I’m outside in the freezing cold cause my boy wants to play with his bike, which he doesn’t even know how to ride, he just pushes it. Oh the joys of motherhood.
· Uggggh! Not looking forward to driving to Vernal, let alone in the snow.
· Just realized that Curious George doesn’t have a tail. What kind of monkey is he?
April 2011
· I’m so excited to head to Moab for the weekend to play some volleyball. It’s been way too long since we’ve been there.
· I told Oak that he woke up too early this morning and he said “no, not Ernie.” And then went on to tell me some story about Ernie and Bert and Elmo.
· Wes got Oak a Cars racing game on the Wii but he doesn’t really like to lay. He made me play it all morning though. I got pretty good at it.
· Mmmmmm. Cup o’ noodles.
· Yesterday Oakley’s nursery teacher told me that when he got in there he said “My mom’s cool.” What a sweet boy I have.
· So it’s 11:15 and Oakley is still asleep after climbing in bed with me at 7:00 this morning. Do I wake him up, or let him sleep on?
· Just watching the Wizard of Oz with Oak. I’m surprised how much he liked it. He did go stand in the hall when the mean witch was on.
· What a beautiful day today! Perfect for spending a few hours at the park to wear out the little munchkin.
· Ok all my creative friends. I’m in charge of sharing time for mother’s day. Any ideas of what to have the kids make for their mothers? Is there anything that your kids have given you that you just absolutely loved?
· Is it a requirement to wear a huge crazy hat to the royal wedding?
May 2011
· My parents finally got their Visas and are heading to Australia on Thursday. We’re so excited for them, but sad to see them leave.
· I can’t wait for the day when I’ll be able to go to the bathroom again without a 2-year old’s “help”.
· I have an extremely clean house for the first time in 2 months. This is the best mothers day gift ever! Thanks Wes!
· First outdoor tournament of the season. I hope this old out of shape body can last all day.
· Who wants to go to the zoo this week with us? I hear they have dinosaurs, and Oak would love to see them.
· Finally, a nice enough day to go to the zoo. I hope the dinosaurs are still there.
· Who said stuffing is just for Thanksgiving? I’ve eaten a whole box in the last two days. Yummy!
June 2011
· So excited to go to Raging Waters today with Oak. He’s going to love it.
· Oakley and I adventured downtown on the Trax today. He loved the train and was so good to just sit there and look out the window the whole time. We’ll for sure have to do that again.
· Oh BOY, oh BOY! We’re having another Boy! We’re getting good at making boys around here.
· My son has the best father in the world. They spent all day toether yesterday, playing on the playground, walking around the mall, and rolling down the hill while mom played volleyball. Wes you’re a great dad. Happy Fathers day, or “Happy Holiday” from Oakley.
· I hate nap time. I wish there was a magic pill to put kids to sleep.
· I’m excited to head out of town for the Utah Summer Games. Last year we almost took state, but his year is the year, especially cause 3 of us are preggo. Hehe. Our team name is Baby Bumps. Wish us luck.
· We won our gold medals. I think those 3 extra babies helped us on the court. Yay team Baby Bumps.
· Oak just said the baby’s name is Alice. Hmmmm. I guess that could work for a boy.
· Fun day yesterday at Lagoon with Wendee Radmall, and the kids. By were we exhausted by the end. Oak was such a trooper and even went on some “scary” rides, which is what he calls them.
July 2011
· My sweet grandma has been reunited with my grandpa today after 19 years without him. We’ll miss her, but glad that they are together again.
· Gearing up for another day at Lagoon. Fun fun!
· Thanks everyone for the birthday wishes. I had a great day shopping with my sisters and hanging with my fam.
· I caught Oakley licking the TV while he was watching Wall-E last night. I got a video of it, but I better not post it cause some of you might blackmail him when he gets older.
· Hmm, just dropped a sock down the lint trap of the dryer that runs all the way down the back of it. Any ideas how to get it out without taking the whole thing apart?
· It’s funny when Oakley wakes up crying in the middle of the night and Wes rolls over and hits the snooze button on the alarm. It would be nice if that really worked.
· No worries everyone, the sock from the lint trap of our dryer finally got rescued tonight by my superman husband who tipped the whole thing over and my long skinny fingers to grab it.
August 2011
· My belly is starting to get in the way
· Oak just started the stage of “Mom, watch this!” Between you and me, it’s usually nothing worth watching, but don’t tell him that.
· Planning a trip to St. George the end of August. Anyone know a good place to stay and fun activities to do while we’re there?
· Two little boys, and one big boy asleep at my house Who would have thought it could be so peaceful with 3 boys in the home?
· Had a great past three days with my two boys on vacation. It was fun to just hang out and relax in the heat of St. George.
September 2011
· It would be nice to not have any responsibilities on Sunday’s and just be able to relax.
· Oakley reading his Star Wars book: “And this guy has a lightsaber, and this guy has a lightsaber, and this guy has a lightsaber…” Pretty interesting book huh?
· First time to the Wood Connection craft store today. It’s my new favorite store. Warning, you’ll want to buy everything in there. Good thing Oak was with me so I had to make it quick, but I’ll be going back very soon, and that’s a promise.
· I think I’m retiring from reffing all day tournaments. My feet and belly are killing me.
· The zoo is much better when all the kids are back in school and there’s only 30 cars in the parking lot. Not to mention the nice 80 decree temps.
· 6 weeks to go and I’m already starting the nesting phase. I’ve been organizing bedrooms an hanging anything I can find on the walls. If this keeps up I’m gonna be worn out by the time the baby comes.
· I’m really glad today is over. Our primary program was a great success. Now I can sleep tonight.
· Is there a place in the world where it stays autumn year round? I want to live there.
October 2011
· Three years ago today my little knockout came into this world. What a fun three years it’s been and how not little he is anymore. Happy Birthday Oak!
· Finished some fun crafts today with the sisters. Now I’m all set for Super Saturday, hopefully.
· I just told Oakley to get a tissue to wipe his nose and he asked “Is my nose walking?”
· Oakley wants to call Santa Clause. Does anyone know his phone number?
· Dr.s apt at 4:15, out of there at 4:19. Now that’s what I call speedy service.
· Ward Halloween party . . . check. Almost going into labor because of it . . . double check.
· First Sunday not having a calling = extremely relaxing and enjoyable.
November 2011
· It’s only 9:00 and I think I’m going to bed, my eyeballs hurt from watching so much volleyball the past two days.
· How do kids learn to eat snow? Or how do they know that they can? That’s all Oak does when he’s playing in it, is eat it.
· Count down to baby #2 is almost complete. I’ll be induced Friday if he hasn’t come by then, so 4 days left. Yikes!
· Last day of freedom before the kiddo arrives. Looks like I’ll be tying up all the loose ends.
· In case you didn’t see Wes’s post, our little kiddo make it here. Tyson Drew McKnight, born at 11 o’clock this morning, 11/11/11, in room 11/ weighing in at 8 lbs 9 oz and 20 inches long. We are doing great.
· We were just delivered two “congratulation” dinners to my room in the hospital and since Wes wasn’t here I ate both of them. It’s nice to have room to eat again, whether I should is a different story.
· We made it home with Tyson and I’m a little worried cause he’s been so good and slept all day. That means tonight is not going to be fun.
· I love all three of my boys! I’m so blessed!
· Tyson is exactly one week old. Time is already going too fast. L
· Oak just told me that we found baby Tyson at the Doctors. I guess that’s sort of true.
December 2011
· Had a great night with the hubby at Tucanos. I love that place, especially now that I can eat and not get full. I even tried the “Death by Chocolate cake”. I’m still alive, but it was hecka good!
· Mmmmmm. My house smells like Christmas. Thanks Wes for spoiling me and getting me a fresh tree. I love it!
· Note to self: Don’t eat while watching the show Dirty Jobs.
· Just saw an infomercial for something called maxtall, little gel things you put in your shoes to make you taller. Should I get some? Ha ha.
· I love that I can video skype my parents in Australia any time I want, well almost any time, as long as they’re logged on.
· Getting no sleep because of a newborn is one thing, but add in being sick with a cough and a three year old that woke up every hour for some reason, means I am totally exhausted today.
· I’m so excited to go couch shopping with my hubby tonight. I hope we find a good one.
· From the lyrics of Robin Sparkles “Lets NOT go to the mall!”
· Seriously! Who designs toys? They definitely aren’t mothers who have to fix things every five minutes when they break or don’t work.
· Best after Christmas present ever: 7 hours of uninterrupted sleep from my 6 week old. Mom’s happy today!

Random pictures from 2011
So this is just a random post with all the pictures from this past year that didn't make it into their own post, but I want them in my blog book for the year so here they are. There are many of them and they aren't in any order so bare with me. Since the program I use to make my book puts two pictures next to each other I'm just going to type after every other picture to explain what it's about to save room in the book.
Over the summer I got to watch one of the neighbor boys, Maland, every Friday, so I would take Oak and him to different places to get out of the house. We went to the zoo many times, and they loved it. They were really good sitting on the dots to wait for the train, and they loved seeing the dinosaurs that they had there this summer.

We also got to go to the Children's Museum with Maland and push around these huge pool balls, and play in the full size foozball table thing. Oak and Maland became best buds and we were sad when they moved in October, but at least we have the memories.
Oakley used to be impossible to take to the store with me, but we found a few ways to make it easier to take him. First of all our grocery store has these cute little carts and he loved being able to push it around, and he got really good at it. He also found the cool platform on the bottom of carts that he liked to ride on once in a while.

Here's Tyson and his first picture with Santa. Also a cute picture of his big (I think they're going to be brown) eyes.
My sisters took me to lunch for my birthday at Loco Lizard in Park City, fitting huh? They dressed me up and made me hold this pink flamingo. Silly girls.

Another one of Oakley's friends is LJ. They always ask to play with each other and they get along so well with each other. Here they are enjoying a day at the zoo.
Oak usually never falls asleep anywhere except his bed, so when he does fall asleep I think it's a miracle so I always take a picture.

My three boys just hang'n out on the floor together.

They are such cute kids.
Silly Oak playing in the back yard with his water toys, and using some of them as hats.
Oak chowing down on popcorn at his first movie, well the first movie that he made it all the way through, Cars 2.

We got to go to the State Fair again with Katy, Kayla, Jeana, and Kaelyn and Oak loved the little farm area for the kids.
Oak is so silly sometimes. I always find things in wierd places, or items set up like this picture of Elmo in Oak's high chair eating cereal.
Here's a shot of Oak and his first blackish eye. I think he got it at the children's museum by standing on a foam block and falling off onto the carpet. I'm sure it's the first of many.
And my little burrito of a baby with half smiles.
Grandma Thompson sent Tyson this cute outfit all the way from Australia. It was a little big, but we made it work and it looked cute. I'll probably put him in it when it gets warmer and I'm sure he'll fill it out then.

Wes had surgery on his elbow three days before Christmas. They just went in and cleaned out some extra "stuff" that was floating around. Now he's on the mend and hopefully it heals well and he can get back to playing volleyball.
Oak loved helping me make homemade turtles this year. Here he is eating one of them.
We also made our first big furniture purchase of our marriage, a couch. Since I pretty much broke our old one from laying on it so much when I was pregnant, we decided to get a new one, so that was our Christmas present. We found this one at Furniture Row in Draper and we love it. Both sides recline and it's long so we actually fit on it when we lay down. We love it!
This is Wes's signature hold. He always holds the babies like this, and they love it. They love it so much they both fall asleep. I have many picture of Wes and Oakley like this, so I took this one to compare to the ones I have of Oak.
I'm not big on showing my bare belly, but I took this picture one night while Oak was brushing his teeth and I though it was cute, minus the dirty mirror. Oak still loves kissing his little brother even though he's not in my belly anymore.
And I love this picture of cuddle newborn Tyson. They don't stay little for long.
Oak loved playing in the leaves last year, so this year I made sure he got out in them. Of course he had to bring his lightsaber and pretend to fall in the leaves and fight with his lightsaber. He's silly.
Can you tell that I'm obsessed with taking pictures of sleeping kids? Well I am, but this was funny cause I was just working on something in the kitchen and I heard the music on this little table playing over and over so I peeked around and Zachary, our little neighbor boy, had fallen asleep like this. It was so cute.

Oak looks so sharp in his suit. We bought it for him last winter and he loves wearing it to church and wearing a tie like daddy.
He also loves to mow the lawn with daddy as you can see. He does a really good job.

Christmas lights
We weren't able to make it downtown before Christmas because of everything that was going on, but I really wanted to take Oakley down to see the lights since he loved them so much last year. So last night we sent Tyson to Grandma's house, which she was so excited about, and Wes and I took Oakley downtown. We parked at the Gateway and took the Trax to Temple Square. As soon as we got off the train Oak just wanted to get right back on. That was the best part of the whole night for him. We made him walk around though and see the lights. I'm not sure if he really enjoyed them, he just liked running around and acting crazy, which also drove mom and dad crazy, so our walk didn't last that long. That's ok, we still had fun, and I loved seeing all the lights. Here are some of the pictures that we took.
Waiting for the train.

If you couldn't tell, my favorite lights are the red ones. I just love how beautiful they are. We went back to the Gateway and enjoyed some hot pizza. Even Oakley loved that part. Next year I'm sure we'll go back, but we'll be able to bring Tyson and I'm looking forward to having ALL of my boys see those beautiful lights together.
Christmas
Christmas this year was so exciting, especially for Oakley. I think he's finally getting it. We had a little countdown calander that he got to take a number off each day until Santa came, and he loved taking those numbers down. At first he didn't really care, but he did it, but when there were only three numbers left he would count them and say "only 3 more till Santa comes". Then on Christmas eve eve, he was so excited because he knew that in the morning he got to take the last number (although he called them letters) down. It took him a while to go to sleep that night cause he was so excited. The next morning, Christmas Eve, he came into our room where we were still in bed and told us that he took the last letter down. It's so funny to see what they obsess about. Then the whole day of Christmas Eve he was just running around like crazy. He knew that something was happening, and he was so hyper all day. We went to two parties and had tons of fun and got to see Santa Clause at Mor Mor's house. This was the first year that he came to her house, or at least that we got to see him at her house. It was fun to see all of her cute decorations. (Mor Mor is my grandma who is 93, and she is still so with it) It took Oakley a while to go to sleep that night too because he knew that Santa was coming and he really wanted a train set from Santa. Oak kept coming out of his room that excuses, but eventually he fell fast asleep so Santa could come. This is what he left us:
Oakley was so excited in the morning. He was almost in shock. I expected him to run to the train table, but he just stood there staring at it. Then eventually he came over and started playing with it.
