Another project to check off the list

As you know from my last few posts Oakley can now climb out of his crib and it's a little harder to get him to sleep, so with this new dilemma it motivated us to get Oakley's room finished. I already had the boards for the wainscoting up we just had to add a chair rail, do the finish work, and paint. Well, Wes was suppose to go to Moab this past weekend and ref volleyball, so he planned to take half of friday off so he could get down there. The day before, they cancelled the tournament because there weren't enough teams, so he dicided to take the day off anyway so we could work on the room. It worked out perfect for us. We worked all day Friday, Saturday, and Monday with only about 5 trips to Home Depot, 10 Pixar movies for Oakley to watch (some of them over and over), 10 DVR'd Curious Georges, a few fast food meals, shotty carpentry that can thankfully be fixed by a little putty and caulk, and lots of taping and painting. And this is how it turned out:

Here's a closeup of the custom designed and built wainscoting that I came up with. I really love how it turned out. I couldn't be happier. Now I just need to figure out what to hang on the walls.

We did put the ugly red carpet back in after we painted. Hopefully we can get new carpet with our tax return this year.
