Oak was excited for football season this year. It's his favorite sport and he just loves it. He grew a ton over the year and is now taller than all the coaches. You can see him there in the red shirt. He towers above everyone.
This team worked hard day in and day out and they played great. Oak would always come away from the games with bruises and cuts and this is the first time ever that I have seen him take hour long naps. He was exhausted after every game.
For one of their practices they were able to go up to the University of Utah and watch part of their practice and then get their hats signed by some of the players. This was an awesome experience and one they'll never forget.
The team went undefeated throughout the league and ended up getting the one seed for the tournament. They beat some hard teams, even Bingham, who they lost to in the semi finals last year, and made it to the championship game. They fought hard and played well, but ended up losing in the final game. They took 2nd out of hundreds of teams and they are all amazing kids.
Their banquet was in a garage in the back of one of the player's houses. It was an amazing place and fun to see the boys together again outside of football.
We are proud of Oak and all the hard work he puts in to make himself and his team better, and for being such a good sport on and off the field.
