Oakley was so excited to start his football season this year. For football they have a weigh in day, every year, and if you weigh more than a certain amount you have to be a lineman. Well, Oak was really close to the number and he wanted to make weight, so we put him on a strict veggies, fruit, and chicken diet for a week and when he went to his weigh in, he was a whole five pounds below weight. Yay! This meant he could be part of the offense and run plays and stuff. After the weigh in Oak bought him a foot long sub and a whole pizza and he downed it. The next day, he was back up ten pounds. He still had his broken foot and couldn't do much till he got out of his walking boot, but he would go to practice every day and do whatever drills he could. He did miss the first few games and scrimmages. He was committed though, and once he could finally get rid of the boot, he was all in and got to play both offense and defense usually. On game during the year he even got to be the center because their regular center was in quarantine. And a few times he got to be the running back on an extra point and run the ball in for the extra point. He did pretty good with that. His team made it to the semi-final game and ended up losing a really close on to Bingham and they were bummed after being champions last year. They played really well though and had a great time. Here are just a bunch of fun pictures from the season.
