St. George almost didn't get to happen this summer because I got sick right before and thought it might be Covid. I didn't want to expose my parents, so we stayed home and I got tested. The next day it came back negative, so we hurried and packed up and left. I'm glad we were able to go, because Katy's family came down too, and having cousins there was tons of fun. Besides swimming every day, watching movies, and playing lots of games we also went on some fun adventures. We went to fire lake one day and tried out grandpa's new 6 person paddle board. We love this lake because it's small and the sand on the beach is fun to play in. Grandpa even brought his flag to mark our spot. We had so much fun that Wes and Dax crashed when we got back home.
Another day, we went up Snow Canyon and found a fun little slot canyon. The boys that this was the coolest thing ever.
While we were hiking, Wes and Oakley made a trip to the instacare because the night before, Oakley had rolled his ankle as we were walking to the pool, and it still hurt a ton, and he couldn't put pressure on it. It ended up being broken, so he got a fun boot to wear for the next six weeks. He at least could still swim with us, just carefully.
We got to celebrate the 4th of July while we were down there. We ended up parking in the high school parking lot and watching fireworks above the D mountain. The fireworks were great, but the best part was that they caught the hill on fire seven times. They had fire trucks there and put them out, but it cool to watch the fireworks and the fires.
Eliza sure does love Oakley. She is by his side all the time.
And what would St. George be without going to Thunder Junction. The boys love that place. We also took a Sunday drive and drove over to Gunlock reservoir to check it out. The beach isn't as nice as other lakes, but it was fun to see.
While we were down there Wes took me to a really fun place for my birthday. It was called Anasazi. They have different yummy fondue, which we had to try all of, and the coolest part was that the main course came on a really, really hot rock and you pretty much cook your own meat on the rock right there at your table. It was a really cool experience.
On my actual birthday, the day we drove home, we went to Chili's for my birthday dinner with the boys. We love going out to eat.
