This was Oakley's first year playing tackle football. He was excited, but a little nervous. He was excited to get his jersey with his name on the back, and of course he had to try on the pads and get gloves and arm pads. Once he started playing he loved it. He was the tallest on the team and had to be an X man, which is a lineman, because of his weight. He did great, and was one of their main players both on offense and defense. His team was really good, and they were undefeated during the season and won the championship. It was a pretty awesome year.
These are probably our favorite pictures of the season...Oakley walking past the opposing coach and him double-taking after he passes him. Oak was about as tall as his coaches, as you can see from the pictures.
It was fun to have grandma and grandpa come watch some of his games. The McKnights even drove up from Arizona a few times just to watch.
We are so proud of him for working so hard all season, and it's fun to see it pay off in the end. Go Bengals!!!
