Cache Valley Fun

My sister that lives in Cache Valley called me a few weeks ago and told me that her seven year old daughter asked when Aunt Liz was going to bring the baby up to visit. How cute is that? So I packed up the two boys last week and we headed up to play at the farm. We had tons of fun and Oakley used up lots of energy, which he keeps telling me he has tons of. Oakley loved playing in the snow with the new puppy, Marble, and with his cousins.
He loved playing with his cousin Rachel, whether it was games on the ipods or having Rachel read books to him.
We also go to go to OREO (Outrageous Reading at Every Opportunity) night at the elementary school. We got to choose three stories that we wanted to hear and the teachers would do something outrageous and fun while they read. Oak's favorite was the Chickens to the Rescue song and hearing the book read to him.
Everybody loved holding Tyson and making him smile.
We also got to help Aunt Wendee plant her seeds for the summer. Oak loved pushing the seeds down in the dirt.
We had a great time, and Oakley was in heaven running around with the kids and playing with different toys. Cousin Rachel was so nice to give Oakley 'Blue' as a going away present. He loves him and sleeps with him at night now. Thanks Rachel.

What have my boys been up to?

This winter has been a little tough for us because we are used to getting out of the house more, but with two kids, let alone a newishborn, it's been a little harder, so we've found a few creative things to do, and some not so creative things, just lazy things.Oakley seems to go through phases of wanting to watch the same shows all the time. Right now his two favorite are Blue's clues, and Super Why. I made him this "Handy Dandy Notebook" so he could draw all the imaginary clues that he was finding around the house. His imagination is kicking in big time right now and it's so fun to see him pretend different things. All the sudden he'll just say "There's a clue" and run over to the couch or the chair or wherever.
He is also taking after his dad, and loves the computer, whether it's the iPad or the desktop he loves to play games on them. Yesterday he found dad's earphones and put them on while he played a Super Why game. He's getting pretty good at using the mouse too.
This was just a funny picture of Oakley holding Tyson's head. He asked if he could hold Tyson and he loved having him just sit there on his lap.
Tyson is getting so big. He can stand up in the exercauser and once in a while his hands will swing up and hit the keys on the piano thing. He loves standing though. He could stand there forever if he never got tired.
He also loves watching basketball. Dad will just turn on an NBA game and Ty will just chill out on the chair and watch. I think we have a future baller on our hands.
Ty's also been practicing tummy time. His neck is really strong so he doesn't need that much tummy time, but he likes being in different positions here and there.

Valentines cookies

Last week we got together with some of Oakley and Tyson's cousins to decorate sugar cookies at Aunt Katy's house. This was the first time that Oakley has decorated cookies, and he loved it, for about 10 minutes. He got to use the cookie cutter and help cut out a few cookies, and then decorate a few. His favorite color of frosting was blue, not pink, which is a good sign. As you can see in the first picture Tyson loved watching the kids make the cookies also. It was fun to get together with the cousins. I'm sure we'll do it again.

It finally snowed!

So it finally snowed enough yesterday so we could take Oakley out sledding today. We invited Kayla to come and made Katy stay home with Tyson, since she's preggo anyway, and can't, or shouldn't be sledding. I think she enjoyed a little quiet time holding the sleeping baby though. Anyway, the four of us, Wes was off work, went to a little park up the street from our house. It was the perfect size hill for the kiddos. They had so much fun. We rode with them for the first few times, but then they were fine to just go on their own. Kayla needed help climbing the hill, but Oakley could carry his sled and climb the hill all by himself. Wes and Oak had fun going at the same time and crashing at the end. It was good family time.
Kayla only went down about 5 or 6 times, and then she was fine just sitting at the top watching Oak and Wes do their thing while she ate her snacks. What a silly girl.
The boys even got brave and went down on their tummies.
I think Oak's favorite part was pretend crashing at the end, and crashing into dad.
We did manage to send Oak down on his back once. He didn't mind, but didn't want to do it again.
Here are some videos of the kids sledding. What a fun time we all had.

More Crafts

Here are a few more of the wood crafts that I've been working on lately. I really am obsessed with these. The Valentine one and the Santa one are my favorites.

The Holy Ghost and Dinosaurs

Oakley is a Sunbeam now at church and he's been making the transition pretty well, and learning some fun things. A few weeks ago when we got home from church he couldn't stop telling us all about what he learned. Take a look for yourself:

Random pictures around the house

One of Oakley's best friends is LJ. They always ask to play with each other and they really play well together. Here they are with their lightsabers in their pockets. It's funny cause they strut around like this all the time. They are silly.
Tyson is now big enough to sit in the Bumbo cause he can hold his head up for more then ten seconds, so while I'm making dinner or lunch I'll plop him in there on the counter. Well, of course, older brother wants to be right by him, sitting on the counter as well. Oak loves his little brother.
Sorry this one is sideways but for some reason I can't get it to rotate, but here's Tyson enjoying his bath after one of his many blowouts. He's almost too big for the sink now, we might have to pull out the mini tub thing.
And the last picture is of Tyson shoving his hand down his throat. Yes, he has found his hands, and he loves chewing on them. Most of the time we have these little gloves that he wears so he doesn't scratch himself, and he'll start sucking on those and I can hear him sucking from the other room. He sure is getting cute.
