December

This volleyball season came to a close when I got invited to work the post season NIT tournament at Weber State. This was my first time being asked to work post season, and although it wasn't the NCAA tournament, I was still excited to work it and get the experience. I worked with some great people and had an awesome time.
Kayla was an elf in her school play this year and we were able to go watch it. She did a great job.
Oakley had another band concert and did great as well.
The boys love to decorate gingerbread houses. They were pretty creative this year with the sides that they decorated. The SOS is Tyson's side and on Oakley's side he put EA Sports. I did the ends of the house and Dax made the gingerbread man.
We ended up having a Snow Day, well, really an at home learning day. We got 10 inches of snow in one night. The lights on the tree and the snow were so pretty, and it was crazy how bright it was in the middle of the night. The picture of the trampoline was taken at midnight. We did lose a branch from all the snow.
This year as part of the boy's Christmas presents we decided to surprise them with a night downtown. We got a hotel right across the street from Vivent arena. We did quite a few things. We walked down to City Creek, let the boys choose an item at the giving machine, had dinner at the food court and everyone got to choose what they wanted.
We rode the train to Gallivan Plaza and got to watch the live news and have our arms be in the background of the newscast. Tyson was especially interested in how it all worked. We also saw a bunch of fun lights around the ice rink.
Then we rode the train back to temple square and saw the big whole around the temple and all the work they are doing to it. We even got to go up on top of the conference center and look down into the pit. It was pretty sweet.
And of course we had to enjoy all the amazing lights on Temple Square. We even recreated a photo from when Oak was little and I use it on my credit card
We ended up getting two Jazz tickets for that night so Wes took Oak to the Jazz game, right across the street and I took the little boys swimming in the hotel pool. Then we chilled in the room and enjoyed the awesome view from the bed and the window. They even saw us in the window as they came out from the game.
Christmas Eve with cousins! Dax and Sam were matching. Rachel made me get flowers for mom since she couldn't be there, and a few of us thought it would be funny to all give dad the Costco puzzle. He ended up getting four of them which was a hoot.
Christmas at our house. I didn't take many pictures, and I forgot to take one of Tyson and all his presents. Oak got a phone and a bunch of Cardinal stuff, Tyson got books and games and Dax got hot wheels and Paw Patrol stuff and expansion to exploding kittens, his favorite game. They also got giftcards to go to a VR studio and play VR for 5 hours. These boys are spoiled.
Here they are at the VR studio for the first time enjoying their Christmas gift.
And what is Christmas break without going swimming with cousins? That was fun as well.
