July is my favorite month of the year. Probably because there are so many fun activities to do.
This year dad was playing volleyball in Park City so I took the boys to the Murray City parade. We found a spot right at the end of one of the streets and the boys loved it. Every float threw out tons of candy and there were so many to see.
After the parade the boys played at the neighbor's house in their sprinklers and we just laid low for a bit. Then we went to Grandma and Grandpa Thompsons for a BBQ. Their neighbors set off a ton of fireworks so we just parked ourselves in the yard and watched. Dax enjoyed drinking his very own root beer.
After that we met the Marchants at the Holladay Park and watched the fireworks. The kids loved being with their cousins, and they actually sat still and watched the fireworks this time. Yay for them getting older and more mature!
We swim a lot in the summer and we always have to make sure to get a swimming day in with our cousins. This time we tried out Cottonwood Heights pool. The kids love this pool.
I got to have a little girls trip to Colorado with my good friend Cassie. She flew in from Washington and we drove to Steamboat and played in the A division. We didn't play too well at first because they still play on the big courts with no antennae, but we ended up placing fifth. We had tons of fun.
While we were in Colorado I found McKnight's Pub and Grill. It wasn't open yet, so next year we'll have to try it. We also got a front row show to the hot air balloons. This picture was taken from the door of our hotel room. It was pretty awesome to see them so close.
We also go to cheer on some of the open players from Salt Lake. The women took second place, and the men took first place. Way to represent!
Dax turned 3 this year. Boy has the time flown by. We went to Grandma and Grandpa's house and played for a bit and then went up the canyon to Silver Lake and had a picnic. It was surprisingly chilly, but the boys had fun chasing the squirrels and Dax loved all his presents.
Hopefully this phase doesn't end, but I can now take pictures where all three of them are looking at me at the same time. It's a miracle that I got two in the same night. What cute boys they are.
Well, I made the plunge. For my birthday I got Lasik surgery on my eyes. I had to wear glasses for two weeks prior to this, which was the hardest part for me, but we made it through. Everything went well, and the next day I could see just great. Why didn't I do this sooner? Oh ya, children/pregnancy.
We have some pretty cute cousins. One day I snapped this funny photo of the boys all on their own ipads sitting on the fireplace. What a different generation.
And little Eliza is just a cutie. She's finally starting to warm up to me.
First back yard water day of the year, and the first one with our new trampoline. The kids had a blast playing together. We even pulled out our bongo ball thing and the kids had fun rolling around in that.
Our boys are all tall enough to ride the ferris wheel at Scheels now. They weren't scared at all. Dax loved it.
I put Oakley in 3 sessions of swimming lessons this year. He was doing really well and can swim in the deep end and jump off the diving board. He still has a ways to go, but I'm not scared with him in the water anymore.
We were able to go to St. George again for a few days. Wes had to stay back and work, but I took the boys down. Since it was the middle of the summer we had to find ways to cool down, and we did.
We found this fun little lake over near Snow Canyon called Fire Lake. The kids had a blast playing in the sand and with the paddle board. Dax found this little watering can in the sand and wouldn't put it down. He played with it for a good couple of hours. He wouldn't even let us leave it where we found it. He was insistent that we brought it with us. So we have it in our swim bag and he loves playing with it at the pool too.
We also got to play with our other cousins, Lily and Scott, at Thunder Junction. That place is so fun, and hot! Thank goodness we wore our swimming suits this time so we could stay cool in the water.
That evening Aunt April took us to her work and let the kids climb all over the fun trucks that they have. The boys were in heaven. If only they could have shot the guns and other artillery they would have been over the moon.
She also took us inside to the gym and the kids found these huge lockers that they played hide and seek in. This was probably the best part of the tour for them. Even Dax could play.
It's so fun when the boys play together, and when the older boys are such good big brothers to Dax. I have to document it because it doesn't happen all the time.
We of course had to make our way to the city splash pad. The boys love this place and can always spend hours here.

The next morning was the 24th of July and we found a little parade in Washington City to go to. Note... don't go to this parade again. It was like 15 minutes long and nobody threw out any candy. I think there was maybe one float and mostly cars with advertisements. It was the worst parade ever and a waste of time. Oh well, now we know. That night we watched fireworks from the deck of the condo. Sorry no pics.

We went to Bear Lake with the Thompson clan. It is always fun to be with everyone, and a little crazy, but mostly fun.

We were only up there for two whole days. The first day the boys loved playing in the water. Dax loved using the bucket to pour water on the sand and dig with the shovels.
