October 2016

For Oakley's birthday we had a few family members over for dinner and cake and ice cream. Oakley is 8 now! He is getting so big. I love the first picture here where he looks so excited for their cake. Kids and birthdays...it's such a joy!

Oak enjoyed his presents. He got a few books and some Legos. Dax especially loved one of the books he got. It has animals and when you turn the pages the pictures move.
Then for Oakley's party we took a few of his friends to Classic Fun Center. It's cheap on Wednesday nights and the kids love to play in their jungle and bounce houses.
We are so proud of Oakley for choosing to be baptized. He was baptized on October 8th and he was the only one in the stake that day, so he got a special program just for him.

These were all the friends and family that came to support him at his baptism.
Tyson has been saying lately that he never wants me to leave and he has been more attached than usual, so I decided to take him on a date to Nickelcade. He had so much fun and he got all of my attention that night.
We even went out after to get ice cream and he got to choose whatever he wanted. It was nice to just spend time with him one on one.
These boys love to swim. Now that it's colder we have to swim indoors, but they don't mind a bit. They just want to be in the water.

Dax in his cute Bengal outfit. This outfit has gone through all three boys and it is one of mine and Wes's favorites. It will be sad give it away in the future. Maybe we'll just frame it and put it in Wes's office.
And here the boys are playing at the park while mom runs her outdoor 2's to 4's tournament. It's always nice when they come to visit during the long day.
Another trip to the zoo with all the cousins. It's so fun to go with everyone.
These kids don't seem happy to be there at all, do they?
What do you do with a boy's hair for crazy hair day at school? Well, you pinterest it, and find that if you crush up chalk and add water it will dye your hair, so that's what we did.
The school Halloween parade was a hit. I love how much bigger Oak is than everyone. We got so many comments that his costume was perfect for him, with his long legs. Good thing I found it at the consignment sale.
This year's Ward Halloween Party was a blast. They had a haunted house and some fun rooms that had games in them. Dax loved it the most I think.
We got a surprise and found out that Tova, Tim, and Solveig were in town for a little while, and would eventually leave and spend the winter in Mexico. Now that Solveig is almost 18 she is wanting to get out and see the world more. They had an open house at the Marchants for them and it was fun to visit. We found out that Solveig had never been trick-or-treating since in Alaska the nearest neighbor is fifty miles away, so we invited her to come with us, and she did. She had a blast, and could have kept going at the end of the night, but our kids were exhausted.
It's so fun to see how excited the kids get. They were so cute in their costumes this year.
