I get really busy in the fall with all the officiating that I do, so for Labor Day weekend I wanted to have a little get away with the family. We rented a cool suite with a loft up in Park City with Wes's parents. It was fun to get away and just relax with the kids and enjoy the outdoors.
The place we rented was near main street downtown, and the city park, so we spent a morning at the park enjoying the sun. Then we headed to the alpine slide and enjoyed the ride up on the lift. Tyson loved it, Oak wasn't so sure about it.
Oakley got to ride alone and he was pretty cautious. Tyson rode with me and he kept saying faster, faster! It was fun.
The boys loved swimming at the hotel but it was a little chilly so we never stayed long. We had been looking forward to a hot tub, but of course the one at the hotel was all torn up cause they were fixing it. Bummer!
The pool had a deep end which was nice for Oakley to practice swimming in since he couldn't touch the bottom. He's getting better at swimming, but still needs some practice to help get those arms and legs coordinated.
Even though it was chilly the boys still loved the water.
The leaves are just barely turning color and it was so beautiful!

We tried out a little burger place and Dax loved just drinking from a straw. We even tried deep fried oreos. They were pretty sweet.
On Labor Day we walked over to Main Street and found some fun places to pose for pictures.
They also have a big event called Running With the Balls, where people buy a numbered golf ball for a few dollars and then at a certain time, they release all the golf balls down Main Street and whichever one wins gets a prize. It's to raise money for the Arts program up there I think. We bought a few balls, but didn't win. It was fun to see all the balls though. They were bouncing and flying all over when they released them. The hardest part was waiting for them to release them, and trying to keep other people from squeezing in front of us to see.
After the golf balls they had a parade and the kids loved it. Tyson loves parades and was more excited than anyone to be there.
To finish off our trip we came back to Salt Lake and showed grandma and granpa McKight what Waffle Love was. Dax sure loved it.
Dax wants to be just like his brothers and wear a helmet with them. What a cutie!
Tyson started Preschool this year at a ladies house in Midvale. Miss Jessica. He hates going, but loves it once he gets there. Next year he will be in Kindergarten. Where has the time gone?
Sometimes the boys just need to get out. We love going to the farm and walking around seeing the animals. And we found this awesome park over by Tyson's preschool that has this blue swing that the boys loved.
One morning both Wes had a meeting early and wouldn't get back till 9:00 and I was volunteering at the consignment sale and had to leave by 8:30. I couldn't take Oakley with me to the daycare there, so we decided to just let him stay home for the half hour before Wes got home. We told him to just stay downstairs and play and don't answer the door or the phone. Well, when Wes got home from his meeting he found these notes taped to the front door. Needless to say we had to clarify why he wasn't to answer the door and talk a little more about safety when staying home alone.
